The site was in Chedilapakkam, a village. It was a two and half acres. A school was asked to design at that particular site.
A school obviously has to be interesting in such a way that children shouldn't cry for coming to school. Rather they must enjoy each and every moment being there.
The school being in a rural environment, has to be self supporting. For example, making use of Passive energy rather than active.

The concept was to provide the children a better study space, more like a castle in order to attract them. It was purely inspired from the Hogwarts school of Harry Potter.
An innovative idea of producing tiles from tyres as a process of recycling was made in recent times. These tiles were used for the roof.
For the walls, rhino bricks were used. It is made from recycled plastic waste and recycled sand. Above all the most attractive element in making these bricks is there is no use of water during manufacture.
This was the given 2.5 acres. The blocks were arranged in accordance with the VENTURI EFFECT. The blocks were arranged in a fan like orientation. So that it catches the air and passes through it in a cooler way. Thereby reducing the cost of active energy for ventilation. All the classrooms were arranged in a manner that every single space receives maximum light and ventilation.
The above picture is the ground floor plan. The intermediate spaces were designed as per their age groups. Like tents, kids play area, gazebo study space, senior junior interaction nests etc. This is the first floor plan with some classes and the computer science and general science lab.
These are the elevation and section of the school with the detailings of a castle.
This structure creates a curiosity among the children to use this space, it has no connection with the site context.
